Teach it… To preach it.

The sad truth is, that the present-day church in Uganda provides no formable defense of the gospel against a most skeptical and unbelieving culture. The main problem throughout all of East Africa, at both the church and regional level, is that of ill-equipped leadership. Something has to change!

Raising Hands Ministries has been carrying a dream since its inception. The dream is to raise an army of national leaders, strong in the Word of God and touched by the Spirit of God, who will effectively impact East Africa for Jesus. A confirmation has come multiple times over, that people may very well sense a strong calling from the Lord to do ministry, yet they lack the very knowledge and skills necessary to move into their calling and be effective. 2 Timothy 2:15 states, “Study to show yourself approved to God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. And so, this week RHMI personnel have returned to the Kulu Village (situated along the Congo-Uganda border) for yet the 2nd term of training church leaders.

This training exercise is meant to equip these spiritual leaders in knowing how to study the Word of God, coming to an understanding of some of the foundational doctrines contained in Scripture, and knowing how to grow other believers up in Jesus.

But don’t take my word for it; view for yourself the deep hunger for the Word that is so evident among these pastors.

Perhaps the photos best tell the story of how God’s Word is received by people who are now able to hear God speak to them in their heart language; all while being made more useful in ministry. A favorite passage of Scripture surely applies, “… and the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these things to faithful people who will be competent to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2).

I believe that the days of His latter rain and outpouring will be greater than anything that was before? That some of the Church’s finest hours lie ahead… Therefore, RHMI remains committed to being a milestone marker in the lives of pastors and believers everywhere.

Even now, may these church leaders leave Kulu unrecognizable to those who are close to them, but forever mighty for the Kingdom of God. Oh, they may have come to this training conference having sight, but it is only the study of God’s Word that produces vision within. What a privilege it is to play even a small part in creating vision barriers to God’s glory!
